I started in the insurance industry in 1981 on the life and financial side of things and held the designations of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA). In 1986, I joined my sister and brother at the family agency – ViVenzio Insurance where we now run the agency founded by my father.
For all of us, it’s about family and community. I enjoy helping local businesses preserve what they’ve built and families protect what they’ve worked so hard to build. Accidents happen as do tragedies – what we do at ViVenzio helps soften those blows and we get people back on their feet. That means something to all of us here. You could say Insurance is just in our blood!
My main role at ViVenzio is working with our business clients especially contractors, manufacturers, and garage/auto body shops. I find these industries fascinating. I am also certified by CMS to market Medicare Supplements, Medicare advantage, and prescription drug plans.
Earlier in my career I was the President of the CT Young Insurance Professionals (CYIP) and served on their board for many years and attended the UConn School of Insurance.
I currently live in Ellington, CT with my wife and son but also spend as much time as possible at the Cape in the Summer and Southern Florida in the Winter. I also try to ride my Harley whenever possible – if there’s an opportunity for a road trip with my local group Good Vibes, I’ll take it! When not on the bike, you’ll find me at the Ellington Ridge Country Club where I’ve been hitting the links since 1999.
Community. Commitment. Experience. Knowledge. Family. The words that clearly define what it means to be an independent insurance agency for a small community in Connecticut.
For me, it’s 30+ years in the business working first on the carrier side, then exporting that valuable knowledge to the independent agency side. I understand how carriers work and how they think from an underwriting and claims perspective.
What does that mean for my clients? I’m not going to sell them anything they don’t need, nor will I NOT offer them something they have a need for due to a gap in coverage. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Some clients just aren’t right for us. We don’t offer bare bones policies or take on clients who don’t understand the value of working with an Agent. We become part of our business clients’ inner circle of Trusted Advisors and we become part of the family for our personal clients.
It’s all about protecting against the what ifs. Insurance is simply a 1-year contract based on a promise. The carrier absorbs the risk so my clients can sleep at night. When does it really matter? When something bad happens, when a claim is presented. I make sure that every base is covered so my clients understand their risk and are insured properly to protect them.
Sounds simple, but it’s not.
We can say we’re the best, as most agents do. That won’t convince you to buy from us. I can tell you once you meet with us and join our team – we have a 99.9% satisfaction rating when it comes to Claims – that point in time when the insurance policy really matters. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Need to know more about me?
I started my career right out of the University of Connecticut as a Claims Representative with Metropolitan Property and Casualty and quickly moved into the role of Litigation Specialist and then onto Commercial Underwriting with The Hartford. I enjoyed working with agents and helping them grow their businesses, so I took the role with Utica National Insurance as a Marketing Representative where I handled the entire state of Connecticut.
The Family business drew me into the fold in 1991 and I haven’t looked back. I run the agency with my brother Vince and my sister Sue – yes, we all get a long! Our agency is small, committed to the community and our clients, many of whom we’ve had for generations.
Community is a big deal for us at ViVenzio – drilled into us by our parents (Irish and Italian thing!) and frankly we all love it. Here’s a few things I’m passionate about and involved with: Tolland Chamber of Commerce, St. Joseph’s Men’s Club, Sponsorship for Vernon Little League, past Vice President of Vernon Youth Baseball, Rec. Basketball Coach for High School Students in Vernon/Rockville, Basketball Coach at St. Joseph School Rockville Grades 5-8, and last but not least past Manager and Coach for Babe Ruth Baseball.

I like to say I’ve been advising people about their insurance since I’ve been 2. When you grow up in the industry, it kind of just becomes a part of you.
My two brothers (Vince & Dave) and I bought the agency from our father and we never looked back. Carrying on the legacy means a lot to us and we still adhere to the core values he had when he started. We take care of our customers and we give back to the community.
When it comes to insurance, it’s all about what happens when there is a claim. We take the responsibility of making sure all our clients are properly covered pretty seriously! When there is a claim, we hold their hand through the process, we follow up to ensure adjusters are connecting with them and that they get their lives back to normal as soon as possible. That’s what being an independent insurance agent is all about.
My main role at ViVenzio is overseeing the personal insurance side of the house – home, auto, recreational vehicles – or toys as we so fondly call them! That doesn’t mean I haven’t written a business policy (or hundreds) in my time as an agent – but I mainly leave that area up to Vince and Dave.
Outside of the insurance world I’m busy! I am an active member of the Bolton Regional Lions Club – proud to be honored with a Melvin Jones fellowship award, Member of the Vernon Home and Garden Club, Volunteer at the Woodlake at Tolland Rehab Center and Volunteer at Vernon’s Summer Carnival Days as well as being quite active in my Church.
I have resided in Vernon with my husband John for over 45 years. We have one child and two grandsons.
